Tip Archives

A little humor goes a long way.

Humor is a wonderful tool for defusing a tense situation. It stops the escalation of win/lose confrontations without forcing participants to back down. This is particularly important if you are dealing with adolescents.

Using humor also shows children how to relieve the stress involved in everyday life. However, be very careful when using any form of sarcasm. It is easily interpreted as a put-down.
