Something to be proud of
Every child wants to be proud of something. For some, it’s academic achievement, sports or music. Unfortunately, for many other children, their greatest source of pride is their involvement in a gang. You can help protect your children from going down the wrong road by ensuring they each have a skill on which they can "hang their egos". It doesn’t have to be sports. Be creative. There are children to are proud of their dance abilities (including boys), model-airplane building, needlepoint, etc. It could literally be anything, as long as the children will be proud of their skills.
