When You Punish Defiance
When children are well-disciplined, you rarely have to use punishment. However, even the best children are occasionally defiant and you may have to use punishment to make it clear that you mean what you say. Just remember what must happen when the punishment is over - the children must still go and do what you told them to do. This follow-through is what makes the punishment works. And, of course, it’s what makes the children realize that it’s easier if they just do what you tell them to do.
