Plan Ahead For The Holidays
With the holidays fast approaching, you can look forward to spending lots of time with your children. To make sure everything goes as well as possible, plan ahead. For children to behave well, they still need to have some structure in each day. Decide on a few routines that will remain the same such as bedtime routines. Even if the actual time your children go to bed varies during the holidays, they can still go through the same sequence for getting ready. Make sure your children do a couple of chores every day if they are old enough. Some time should also be set aside for reading or practicing skills that will be useful at school. Maintaining this structure will help your children stay "grounded" during the holidays. They will be less agitated and a great deal easier to live with.
